I’m actually not going back to school anytime soon but for those of you who may know me well, I do get bored easily when I feel like I’m not being challenged enough.
I have gained significant confidence in the past six months the reason being I deal with customers 45 hours or more a week. I have learned the ways of being comfortable with myself and thousands of different sorts of people who oftentimes stare me down, waiting for their turn at the counter.
During my breaks at work I find myself either reading The Globe and Mail or watching CBC or Global News. I like writing and always thought that’s what I should stick to but now I feel like I want to venture into broadcasting, radio and TV.
For now my goal is stick with the airline industry, get as much traveling as possible done – an amazing opportunity not everyone has, perhaps get a transfer to another base down the road.
It is another world, a much more different world than I would have ever imagined. I get to meet the most interesting people and the weirdest. It inspires me, writing-wise and travel-wise, it gives me thousands of ideas of places to go.
My second goal is to develop the film section for Beatroute. I love the amount of work that is being put into the mag each month, love the people I work with and I’m super proud to be a part of the team!
September for me is always the beginning of a new year. January always feels off to me. So here’s to a good fall!
